Indian Government’s e-tourist visa received an overwhelming response from the foreign nationals who love traveling India. In the month of May 2016, over 43, 800 arrived in India using the e-visa facility.
Indian Tourism Ministry’s statement reveals that the UK occupied the top slot, followed by China in availing the facility to travel India.
In May 2016, 43,800 visited India, registered growth by 180 percent increase in the tourist arrivals compared to the same month in 2015.
Indian Government introduced the e-visa facility for foreign travelers of 113 countries on November 27, 2016; later extended the service to 37 more countries, on February 26, 2016.
The sixteen airports in India will accept the e-visas of the foreign travelers visiting India for spending holidays and sightseeing.
Between January and May, India witnessed 4, 34, 927 arrivals, which is exceptionally large in numbers compared to the same period in the previous year. It was just 1, 10, 657 in the year 2015.
The top countries sending people on a tourist visa are the United States, UK, China, France, Germany and Australia.
