The immigration Nominee Program is one of the programs in Canada that gives Provinces and Territories (PT) the right to nominate applicants for Immigration to Canada every year.

The nomination for this year was 600 slots more than that of last year. Based on the multi-year immigration plans of Canada, the total target for the country’s nomination in 2019 is 61,000. This means 6,000 admissions more than that of 2018, which is 55,000.

The Express Entry Immigration Streams of Ontario have issued the highest nominations this year, with a total of 6,411 nominations. This system controls the stream of applicants in the three Federal Economic Immigration classes; the Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC), the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The various Express Entry linked streams, including the Human Capital Priorities Stream, the Skilled Trades, and the French Speaking Skilled Worker Streams are open to the Immigrant Nominee Program of Ontario to browse for eligible applicants who are compatible with the Provinces’ labor market under their Express Entry pools.

Nominated candidates in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee program instantly earn 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System score which will boost their chances of being nominated for Permanent Residence in Canada.

The Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCPS) issued the highest number of nominations in the Express Entry stream for 2018. It issued its highest nominations in January and February, sending out five rounds of invitation out of eight rounds for the whole year in just two months. This amounted to precisely 3,534 invitations from HCPS, making up about 50% of the entire invitation to apply for Canadian PR issued by Ontario’s immigrant program for the year.

Three out of Eight rounds of HCPS invitation were targeted draws. Of these three draws, two of them were focused on candidates in the Express Entry Stream that have an offer of Employment in Ontario, and the other one was concentrated on candidates who are proficient in English on an equivalent level of CLB6 or who are proficient in French on an equivalent level of CLB7.
