An Immigration Pathway has recently been created for graduates of post-secondary schools who are foreigners in Manitoba. Qualified candidates can now apply in this Career Employment Pathway by submitting for an Expression of Interest.
- Candidates should reside in Manitoba and should have completed a full-time academic program which lasted for at least two semesters or one year.
- Applicants are also required to have a full-time offer of employment from a credible employer. The job must be one of the occupations listed in the occupation in-demand and must relate to their educational speciality or training.
Otherwise, the applicants should have finished a bridging program and successfully completed the first phase of certification as decided by the regulatory bodies in place.
Foreigners can also apply immediately after their graduation, but they must be residents of Manitoba.
The process of submitting an Expression of Interest
An Expression of Interest is a way to show the Provincial Nominee Program of Manitoba that an applicant is interested in being a Permanent Resident of Manitoba and would like to be nominated by the province under a particular Pathway.
Candidates would provide information concerning certain factors like their education, work experience, among others. Their profiles are ranked based on a point grid system, and they are then added to the stream of qualified candidates based on their various pathways.
A group of applicants with the highest scores receive letters of advice to apply (LAA) for nomination by a Province from the Manitoba PNP in one of the draws.
The Manitoba PNP has considered imposing specified limits for occupation or program whenever it is issuing an LAA for this particular Pathway.
As the Pathway opened on the 30th of November, the number of pathways available to foreign students in Manitoba has gotten to three under the International Education Stream in the Province’s Nominee Program.
Last November, the general Manitoba PNP overhaul was announced, and the International Education Stream was established as part of it. The two other pathways under this stream are Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway, which were officially open on the 1st of November.
