The Canadian Government has given 3900 Express Entry candidates invitations to apply for Permanent Residence in the country on 15th November. The least score for determining the eligibility of applicants was 449.
With this, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have issued a total of 78,100 invites this year. It will only take about 8,000 more Invitations to exceed the number of invitations issued last year.
The minimum score of 449 was higher than the minimum score set in the last draw on 29th October, which was 442. For Thursday’s day, IRCC applied a tie-break rule, implying that every applicant who applied before 12:41:42 on the 16th of September, 2018, and scores more than 449 were given an invitation to apply.
If the time frame gets extended beyond that, there would be a lot of entries, and as a result, the minimum ranking would have to be increased. This last draw had been extended by three days, but the usual duration for submission of entries is two weeks.
Below is a chart showing the minimum score and the time frame between different draws.
How to improve your Comprehensive Ranking System Score in the Express Entry Pool
There are several ways of increasing your CRS score in the Express Entry Pool. If an applicant gets nominated by a province, he or she will automatically receive 600 marks to add to their score. With this, the applicant is already guaranteed an invitation to apply considering a minimum score as low as 449.
The Provincial Nominee Program is designed to give provinces and territories the chance to select immigrants they consider fit and credible enough to stay in Canada for an Invitation to apply for Permanent Residence. The involved Territories and Provinces must have an immigration stream that is connected to Express Entry. The Province of Ontario has three immigration streams that are connected to Express Entry, and these three streams have done about 98% of all the nominations done by Provinces and Territories this year.
The Federal High Skilled Immigration class aims at receiving 74,900 fresh Permanent Residents into the country. The plan is that at the end of 2021, the country should have received 88,800 new Permanent Residents. The Express Entry system actually handles the processing of most of the applications for PR candidates admitted through the Federal High Skilled class.
